Clementine Midwifery and Natural Birth is a unique family-centered practice that has served women throughout New York City since 2004. Together with co-founder Abby Howe-Heyman, I created Clementine because I wanted to work in a practice where trust in birth, respect for women and compassion are guiding principles.

I offer personalized and unhurried fertility consultations (for gay and straight women and couples), intrauterine inseminations for lesbian couples or single moms by choice, prenatal and routine gynecological care (pap smears, IUDs and other birth control methods, etc.). I make ample time to listen to your questions and address your concerns; this is the heart of midwifery care.

Pregnancy is not only a physical event; it can have a profound impact on relationships and it often changes the way women see and understand themselves. Clementine's holistic care includes lots of emotional support and recognizes the importance of all aspects of your experience.

I currently attend births in client's homes and at St. Vincent's Hospital in the West Village. My homebirth practice is focused on the Long Island City, Williamsburg, and Greenpoint communities, but I serve a number of other Brooklyn, Southern Queens and Manhattan neighborhoods below 23rd Street. I plan to offer homebirth ONLY to clients with due dates in October 2010 or later.
